Andy Whyment health: Coronation Street star's deadly condition - symptoms...

Andy Whyment, an ITV star on Coronation Street, has played the role of Kirk Sutherland for 20 years and, most recently, on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! But, his mother revealed that he has two star-shaped scars on his chest; remnants of a life-threatening battle against a collapsing lung.

Andy, 38, has been active since 1993, after training in his hometown, Salford.

He participated in several well-known television programs, including Heartbeat, The Royal Family and – mainly – Coronation Street.

Andy was also named runner-up in the 19th series of I & # 39; m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!

Andy's mother said last year, "He had problems at birth and had to put two tubes in his chest while on a ventilator."

She told The Mirror: "They left scars in the form of two stars. Fred [his father] said he would be a star.

"We were advised to get a priest, but he fought.

"We knew he was here for a purpose. He was in the special care unit for six weeks."

The most common symptoms of a collapsed lung include chest pain, shortness of breath and fatigue.

You may also be at risk for the condition if your skin turns bluish or if you suddenly start to breathe very quickly.

If you think you may have a collapsed lung, seek medical attention immediately.

There is no way to prevent the disease, and if you have a collapsed lung, it is likely to occur again within two years.
