"I feel good, everything is fine," he told the Russian news agency TASS.
Nurmagomedov has yet to comment on his father's admission to the hospital, although he recently asked his followers on social media to make the most of their time with their parents.
"In this difficult time for all of us, pay attention not only to your family, but also to your parents, because parents are the key to paradise.

Before the worst news reported by his father, Nurmagomedov hoped to return to the cage in July.
His next fight is expected to be a light fight to unify the title against the recently crowned 50 kg interim champion, Justin Gaethje.
UFC President Dana White expects the duo's unification fight to take place on Fight Island in the summer.
