LG announces its first UltraGear 4K monitor

by ace

LG this week announced its new UltraGear gaming monitor, this being the first 4K in the entire collection and is fully optimized for gaming and professional video production.

The new monitor from LG comes equipped with a 27-inch Nano IPS UHD screen with 144Hz update and 1 ms response, making it one of the best monitors on the market.

LG has over the years been improving and innovating its gaming monitors and, increasingly, has done them with the greatest of rigors, in order to deliver the best equipment possible to its consumers.

The 27GN950 model is the first immersive 4K Nano IPS gaming monitor, one millisecond response and Gray-to-Gray from LG Eletronics. The South Korean manufacturer thus reinforces the UltraGear line with the successor of the first GTMS IPS gaming monitor, launched last year. IPS displays ensure impressive speed without compromising image quality.

This new screen combines high resolution with 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color spectrum and provides a feeling of total immersion. LG explains that the 27GN950 can reproduce UHD 4K images virtually lossless, with 10-bit color and a refresh rate of 144 Hz through a DisplayPort cable. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified, which guarantees enormous color accuracy, dynamic contrast, high brightness and a wide range of colors.

The new LG also features compatibility with Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and supports HDR. Kaustubh Sanghani, director of GeForce OEM at Nvidia, says in a statement that “gamers will be impressed with the responsiveness and realistic graphics of the latest PC games”.

The 27-inch diagonal and 4K resolution make this monitor quite advantageous for creative professionals, especially when editing high-resolution documents and files or using multiple programs at the same time.

The 27GN950 is the first in the UltraGear series with the ‘wings’ emblem, designed specifically with the players in mind and is already available in the main markets in Europe, North America and Asia, with prices around € 800.
